Renowned choreographer Sandip Soparrkar stole the limelight at the recent showcase of maverick designer Asif Shaikh’s new “Banarsi collection” in Ahemdabad. The event, held at the esteemed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Memorial, celebrated the rich tradition of Indian weaving and craftsmanship.
Soparrkar graced the stage along with Her Royal Highness Queen of Vadodara Radhikaraje Geakwad walked adorned in a saree ingeniously draped as a dhoti, a masterpiece that took artisans nearly four months to meticulously craft. The saree, crafted with silk threads intricately woven to perfection, captured the essence of elegance and sophistication.
The choreography for the show was masterfully executed by Supriya Shah, while Lubna Adam directed the event with finesse, ensuring a seamless and captivating experience for the audience.
Asif Shaikh’s “Banarsi collection” not only showcased exquisite designs but also served as a platform to promote the talented weavers of India, highlighting their craftsmanship and artistry on a global stage.
